Recently renovated boutique duplex apartment in a large, stone-built Victorian house. Situated on a quiet street in the heart of Skipton, known as the 'Gateway to the Dales'.

Spinners View occupies the uppermost floors of a refurbished Victorian terrace, originally built in 1850. Initially configured as a spacious Victorian terrace, the property underwent a transformation into two separate apartments during the early 1990s. Despite the loss of many original features along the way, we’ve devoted considerable time to uncovering and restoring elements such as York stone walls, beams and a fireplace. Our attention to detail extends to our decor and lighting choices, adding character and style that we hope our guests will love as much we do.

With a history traced back to its origins as a residential dwelling, the property was once connected to two neighbouring houses, which were later demolished. This has enabled us to create a secluded courtyard area with seating, and a car park, a rarity in the heart of bustling Skipton. We feel privileged to share this unique apartment with our guests.

Lounge: 

A warm and inviting sitting room with a comfy leather sofa and chair. A stone decorative fire surround flanked by quirky bespoke lighting creates a focal point for the room. It sits alongside a large internet TV with super-fast Wi-Fi. Two large sliding sash windows bring lots of light into the room. Large dining table with seating for four.

Kitchen: 

The kitchen is newly fitted with grey gloss cupboards and a quartz worktop. It is well-equipped with a five-ring glass hob, Bosch oven and built-in microwave, small dishwasher, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and all the cooking equipment needed for your stay. It has a feature beams and a unique bespoke light fitting. There is a radio and USB charging point for your phones and devices.

Downstairs Bedroom: 

A bright room looking to the rear of the property with a king-size bed, wardrobe and dressing table.

Attic Bedroom: 

A large room with original stripped beams and a Velux window in addition to a side window. It has a super king bed which is a zip-n-link and can be split into two singles if requested. There is a wall-mounted internet television and a dressing table with a mirror. The room also has plenty of storage with a large wardrobe.

En Suite Bathroom: 

The attic bedroom has a newly fitted en-suite bathroom comprising of a sink, toilet and shower along with another Velux window.

House Bathroom: 

The bathroom is spacious with a bath, walk-in shower, toilet and double ‘Jack and Jill’ sink unit. It also has a large Velux window in addition to a small side window.

Garden: 

The apartment has its own courtyard garden area with plants and seating. A wonderful area to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine after a busy day exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

Parking:

The apartment has private parking for 2 cars right outside.

Pets:

We keep our cottage ‘pet free’ for guests with allergies. 

No types of pets are allowed and stays will be terminated if pets are found at the property.

Safety & Suitability:

Guests need to be aware that Spinners View is accessed by an external staircase and there is also a turn in the original internal staircase to the top floor. 

For these reasons, the apartment is unsuitable for those with restricted/limited mobility and children under eight years old.

Location:

From Spinners View, it’s just a 1-minute walk to explore the town’s shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants in central Skipton.

The apartment offers a wonderful base for guests looking to explore Skipton on foot and venture out into the picturesque Yorkshire Dales by car, bus or train.

It is a short walk to Skipton Castle and the beautiful woodland walks. The picturesque canal is nearby too. The local railway station is around a 15-minute walk through the centre of Skipton. If you have travelled without a car, public transport is just around the corner with frequent buses.

Car

  • From the A6131 Keighley Road, Skipton, continue driving until you reach the roundabout in central Skipton.
  • At the roundabout, take the second exit.  You will be on Newmarket Street A6069.
  • Take the first left turn onto Court Lane.
  • At the junction, turn right onto Otley Street.
  • Then take the first right next to the Old Court House onto Alma Terrace (black bollards either side of the entrance).
  • Drive along Alma Terrace until you reach number 11 at the end.
  • Parking is on our private car park next to the apartments.  Please don’t park in front of the bay window or in the turning area as this will block the road.

Bus

Regular bus services run in and out of Skipton.  These can be found at North Yorkshire Buses and also at Dales Bus

Train 

Skipton is on the main Aire Valley line and has direct links to Leeds, Bradford, Carlisle, Lancaster and Morecambe.   Leeds is the nearest large railway station which has connections to many areas.   For more information on trains and train timetables check Trainline.

We can accommodate weekend and midweek breaks, except in August when 7 nights normally applies.

  • 3 night minimum for most of the year.
  • 4 night minimum at Easter/October Half Term/Xmas/NY.
  • 7 night minimum in August with arrival and departure on Saturday.
